Cotton & Banana Fibre Blanket with Fringes // Dark Grey–White This timeless blanket is made from hand-woven cotton and banana fibre. It has a beautiful melange look, thanks to the interplay of white and dark grey. Later woven into the cotton, the banana fibre is extracted from the trunk of the banana tree. It is incredibly durable and is one of the strongest natural fibres in the world. Once the fibres have been extracted from banana trunks in a multi-stage process, the material can be processed. The artisans use a handloom for this. Weaving is one of the many traditional handicraft techniques in Nepal; usually the skill has been passed down from generation to generation.
