About FOLKDAYS x El Puente

FOLKDAYS x El Puente
Jewellery, accessories, interior
Handmade, sustainable, fair trade
With emphasis on distinctive design and natural materials

FOLKDAYS x El Puente is the B2B offer of the young Berlin-based brand for contemporary fair trade design & fashion and the pioneer of the fair trade movement. The collaborative project combines FOLKDAYS’ design and target group expertise with El Puentes’ decade long experiences and know-how.

Together, we, FOLKDAYS and El Puente, curate a selection of sustainable, fair trade jewellery, accessories and interior products from artisans, small family businesses and local fair trade organisations from Africa, Asia and Latin America. FOLKDAYS x El Puente takes a collaborative approach to design; one that is equally inspired by old and new, by sometimes centuries-old handicraft techniques as well as contemporary design influences. With a focus on the use of natural materials, all products are handmade and fair trade. Each piece is one of a kind and meant to become a forever favourite.

All products are carefully selected. We love them – not only for their beauty, but also for the history and the expertise that each of these handicraft creations embodies. We offer unique products from countries such as Egypt, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Laos, Nepal, Peru and many more.

All products are ready to ship. The products ordered at our b2b online shop will be shipped to you after you have placed your order.

FOLKDAYS x El Puente was launched in autumn 2020. We see ourselves not only as business actors, but also as advocates for change on a political level: We want fair trade to become «the new normal». We want global trade to be fair and encourage people in Europe and elsewhere to take responsibility. El Puente is involved in the most important fair trade networks and is also a member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), the ‘Forum Fairer Handel e.V.’ as well as a member of the ‘Weltladen-Dachverband e.V.’ Furthermore, FOLKDAYS founder Lisa Jaspers has initiated the #fairbylaw petition, which calls for a law that makes companies liable for what happens in their value chains.
